Grady Box Provides Ideal Ground for MC-AP™
When we were designing Grady Box, our primary goal was to make work easier and faster for electricians. This work also improved the performance of some of the products commonly used with it.
We found that Grady Box is ideal for use with the new interlocked and bonded metal-clad cables like Southwire’s Armorlite MC-AP™.
Conventional clamps were designed for strong steel-jacketed AC or MC cables. When used with modern aluminum cables, they may perform marginally due to the inherent crushing action of the clamps. This can cause poor and inconsistent grounding problems due to loose cables.
The patented Grady Box clamp design secures AC, MC and MCI-A (like MC-AP™) cables in two discrete places with a U-shaped, non-crushing clamping device, greatly improving ground connections and retention of the armor.

Cost Saving With Wago™ and Grady Box
Now you can get all the benefits of labor-saving quick-install wiring devices - without the high cost. Here are some tips on how to use and save money with the new Wall-Nut™ connectors from Wago, enabled by the added volume of Grady Box:
1.) Make up the Grady Box with Wall-Nuts, leaving one push-in empty. Turn on and test the Line Power before drywall is installed.
2.) Pre-assemble all devices in your shop with 6" tails.
3.) Install them quickly on-site by pushing tail ends into the Wall-Nut at Finish.
No Wire Nut Hassles! You can’t redo a wire nut! However, you need the extra room Grady Box provides to make the best use of Wall-Nuts.
