Grady Box™ is a new cost-effective outlet and device box designed
specifically for metal stud construction with multi-wire MC feeders.
All models are certified to UL514A/514B for US and CSA C22.2, No.
18.1-04 and 18.3-04 for Canada. The 44 cubic inch 2-gang version
accepts large devices like dual duplex receptacles, fire alarm
components, dryer/range outlets, etc., and up to sixteen 14AWG,
fourteen 12AWG or thirteen 10AWG wires. 1-gang through 4-gang versions
have similar volume and wire-fill characteristics. |

The patented, built-in clamps rigidly hold AC, MC, MCI-A and even NM
cable, from 14/2 to 10/3 (plus ground)—all on one side of box, for easy
wire dressing. Clamps and grounds are attached with forward-facing
threaded studs—nothing protrudes out the back. “Superneutral”
multi-circuit feeds can now be used to cut home runs and panel entries
by two-thirds. |

The 2-gang Grady Box replaces standard 4x4 and 2-gang boxes, eliminates plaster rings and cable connectors, reduces installation time by about 10 minutes per box (more than paying for itself), cuts cable runs up to 60% and produces a superior finish (outlets rest firmly on steel, not loose on drywall). It also addresses ground security concerns with MCI-A connectors, and cables like Southwire’s excellent MC-AP. |
